Terms and Conditions

Below are the Trendy Dogs Hotel and Pet Services (TDH) Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) that all current and future clients need to adhere to, if they wish to utilise the TDH services.

They have been developed following the experiences of the last 2 years and are intended to clear up any  misunderstandings regarding what TDH will actually deliver. They have been developed from Lessons Identified and will continue to mature as further Lessons are identified and changes implemented.

Clients will be asked to confirm that they have read these T&Cs and consent to abide by them before their dogs next visit TDH. Existing clients will be given suitable time to complete these actions and their current bookings will remain confirmed unless agreed consent cannot be reached.

If potential clients have any questions or quieries about these T&Cs please do not hesitate to contact us for clarification. As our existing customers know, we pride ourselves in being flexible.

T&Cs Structure

These T&Cs are broken down into the following areas:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Behaviour
  • Security
  • Operating Times
  • Bookings and Payments

Health and Wellbeing

1.    Your dog must be wormed and have a flea treatment at least 5 days before it arrives.

2.    We reserve the right to take your dog(s) to a vet at any time, should be we feel the dog requires veterinary treatment.

3.    All instructions for medication must be in writing from yourself or your vet and must be in date.

4.    We need an up-to-date copy of the dogs medical records. We will remind you before your dog stays with us if the records are out of date.

5.    We take dogs walking onto Salisbury plane where there are lots of puddles. Dogs may drink the puddle water and, on occasions this may cause a short burst of wet poo etc.

6.    Full (un-neutered) male dogs are accepted on an ad hoc, individual basis following an initial trial period. If we initially accept your full dog that does not guarantee we will continue to except that dog in the future.

7.    A Chemical Castration typically only lasts for 6 to 12 months. Once the dog shows signs that the Chemical Castration is wearing off, TDH will re-assess their acceptance.

8.    If a bitch is not spayed and is in season before arriving for their boarding then TDH have the right to change the booking. This will be dependent upon other dogs staying and the effect that it will have on the group dynamics. TDH will discuss the options with the owners which include:

  • Cancellation of the booking.
  • A personalised one to one care package at an extra cost (if staff availability allows).
  • Move the booking to an alternate available boarding company at the additional cost to the owners.

9.    If a bitch is not spayed and comes into season during their boarding package, then TDH will attempt to discuss the issue with the owners and/or the proxy. TDH have the right to change the booking as follows:

  • Adopt the personalised one to one care package at an extra cost (if staff availability allows).
  • Ask the proxy to remove the dog.
  • Move the booking to an alternate available boarding company at the additional cost to the owners.

10.   Whilst we will do everything in our power to prevent accidental procreation, TDH take no responsibility if your bitch becomes pregnant.

Behaviour

11.   If there are any changes in the dynamics of having a full dog, it is the full dog that will be removed from the client list.

  • The presence of a full male dog can have a negative effect upon the dynamics of the hotel group.
  • The issue is often aggression from full dogs towards other dogs or aggression towards the full dog from other dogs.
  • Full dogs can also be overly sexual and dominant leading to retaliation.
  • In a group of dogs, full dogs are prone to urine marking (scenting).

12.   Whilst we will do everything in our power to prevent aggressive incidents between dogs, TDH take no responsibility for any injuries caused.

13.   Dogs that bark uncontrollably will not be accepted back.

Security

14.   In order to stay within the rules of our licence, all dogs must wear a collar during the day.

  • If your dog arrives without a collar, we will use one of our TDH spare collars.
  • Collars can be removed in the evening / night-time if owners request it.

15.   New dogs that have consent to walk ‘off-lead’ will be fitted with a GPS tracker until TDH are confident that they can suitably control that dog whilst off-lead.

16.   Where a dog proves to have ‘wondering tendencies’ TDH will (dependent upon the severity of the wondering):

  • Keep the dog on their lead.
  • Use a long training lead (connected to the walker).
  • Use a long training lead loose on the dog; to allow the walker to easily ‘grab’ the lead.
  • Keep the GPS tracker fitted.
  • A combination of the above.

Operating Times

17.   TDH standard operating hours run as follows:

  • Walks – as agreed with client.
  • Day Care – 8am to 6pm.
  • Boarding – 8am to 8am.

If your booked period extends into the next booking period you will be invoiced for that session. i.e. Boarding from 0800 day 1 until 1000 day 2 will incur an overnight boarding charge plus a walk.

18.   Early drop-offs and/or late pick-ups (before 0700 or after 1900) will incur an Early Drop-Off / Late Pick-Up fee.

19.   TDH do not offer the standard day care over weekends. If you require your dog to stay with us during the weekend but do not need / want your dog to board, we will ask the client to provide transport both ways. You will still be charged for boarding unless otherwise agreed.

Bookings and Payments

20.   All payments for Boarding must be paid on or before the first day of boarding.

21.   All Boarding requests will be issued with an official Quote.

22.   A 20% deposit is required to confirm all Boarding requests.

23.   Deposits will not be refunded if the boarding is cancelled 7 days or less from the agreed start date as TDH will be unable to replace the booking.

24.   If THD are fully booked during your requested boarding period, we will offer a waiting/reserve list service at no charge. If we receive a cancellation, we will offer the place to you before going back to market.

25.   If a dog is picked up after the agreed end of boarding period, an additional invoice for the extra time may be issued.
